Our Nibs

At first there was the nib, the heart of every fountain pen. It is the nib that turns a pen into the “instrument” that lays ink — and our thoughts, ideas, feelings, and concerns — onto paper. Such a heart deserves the utmost care: this is our philosophy as a fountain pen maker. We thought long and hard about how to embellish our nibs without subjecting them to processes that would reduce quality. One call to JoWo finally set us on the golden path: a nib stamped with our very own design! So we packed our bags and went to JoWo in Berlin, where we explored the possibilities in a three-hour meeting. Eventually, after a fruitful brainstorming session with the CEO and the head of purchasing and sales, we carved in stone the final base design for our GIOIA nib. Six weeks later, the final design was ready and we could finally commission production.
